Polish are ornamental chickens that have been known as a pure breed since the 16th Century. They are also known for their "hairdos" -- they have mops of feathers on top their heads. In some varieties, this crest of feathers contrasts in color with the rest of the bird's plumage. They also have a small v-comb and large nostrils typical of crested breeds. Polish lay white eggs and are non-sitters.. We are now offering the standard size version in six colors: White Crested Black, White Crested Blue, Golden Laced, Silver Laced, Buff Laced. Average mature weight: Roosters 6 lbs., hens 4 + lbs.

1 out of 1 people found the following review helpful. These darned things are adorable!, July 6, 2008 Reviewer: Jeanne from PA I ordered a dozen of these, just for some variety, and they are soooo precious. When they arrived, one day old, they already had their little top-knots started, and at one month have a very full Phyllis Diller hair-do. They are not the least bit delicate or hard to raise, in fact seem more active and lively than their barred rock and buckeye room-mates. They certainly add some visual interest to my little flock!
