Except for their rich, reddish gold colored feathers edged in black, our Golden Laced Wyandottes are the same as our Silver Laced Wyandottes. These are calm birds with tight rosecombs and that lay brown eggs. Average mature weights: roosters 8 1/2 lbs.; hens 6 1/2 lbs.

Excellent layers even during winter months, April 14, 2009 Reviewer: Dee from CO I was amazed at how quickly these hens began to lay and all through the winter no matter how cold. They have a nice temperament and I have experienced very little strife in the hen house. They adapted well to the older hens. Meyer chicks have been healthy and hardy more so than other hatcheries I have tried. They lay a medium size tan egg every day with a very tough shell. They look like fancy feathered hens but are very productive and practical. I have been extremely happy with this breed. I ordered 26, kept 5 for myself and sold the rest as they matured.
