Except for their rich, reddish gold colored feathers edged in black, our Golden Laced Wyandottes are the same as our Silver Laced Wyandottes. These are calm birds with tight rosecombs and that lay brown eggs. Average mature weights: roosters 8 1/2 lbs.; hens 6 1/2 lbs.

GL Wyandottes are way cool!, January 26, 2009

We chose GL Wyandottes for a few reasons. They take a little while to grow, but they do and they are built for great broilers. The real surprise came when they started to lay! They have outdone our barred rocks and eat little more than the golden buffs we used to raise. Nice to know a pure breed is still so useful! I should also note that these chickens, as has ALWAYS been the case with Meyer, were healthy from the get go. I bought 30 and raised 30. Was this review helpful to you? Yes | No
