Silver Laced Wyandotte With silvery-white edging on their shiny black feathers, Silver Laced Wyandottes will be a lovely addition to your flock. These deep, wide-bodied birds are good layers of brown eggs and are very docile. Their close-fitting rose comb is an advantage in cold climates where single combs sometimes freeze. Average mature weight: roosters 7 1/2 lbs , hens 6 1/2 lbs.

Great dual-purpose breed!, October 3, 2008 Reviewer: Mark from IN I ordered six hens and one rooster early this spring and they have begun to lay nicly now. They are such a quiet and calm breed. I have always raised Black Australorp which lay a few more eggs, however they aren't near as quiet as the Silver Laced Wyandottes and the Wyandottes produce more meat than Australorp. I am looking forward to see how the fair through the winter as Australorp will not stop.
