2009 Hatch. Blue-gray feathers cover most of the Demoiselle Crane's body. The front of its neck is blanketed in dark-gray, almost black feathers. Extending from its red eyes on either side are tufts of white. Although this bird stands nearly 3 feet tall, it weighs only 4-7lbs, making it the smallest crane species. Based on appearance it is difficult to distinguish male from female, however Demoiselle Cranes know the difference and maintain lifelong relationships with a single mate. These exotic birds can be found in dry grasslands in parts of Asia and Africa. Shipping $225.00 Express mail USPS.
