Birds of the Month
Meet our Birds of the Month: Barred Plymouth Rock and Rhode Island Red! We're highlighting these high-production breeds, emphasizing their prolific egg-laying capabilities. Our owner, Karen Meyer's favorite, the Barred Plymouth Rock, is a classic dual-purpose breed, known for friendliness and hardiness. Producing 4-6 brown eggs weekly, these birds, with their black and white barred feathering, make a stunning addition to any flock. The Rhode Island Red, a popular dual-purpose breed and Rhode Island's official bird is a calm, excellent layer with deep mahogany red plumage, laying 4-6 brown eggs per week.
