Blue Copper Marans Day Old Chicks

First imported from France into Britain around 1929, the Blue Copper Marans are truly stunning birds with copper hackles creating a striking contrast against blue plumage. Marans are calm and docile and make wonderful backyard chickens.

Blue Copper Marans hens lay 3-5 brown eggs each week. Due to our breeding program, all of our Blue Copper Marans chicks will be varying shades of blue and not have splash or black feathering. Blue Copper Marans have lightly feathered or clean legs, are active, and great at foraging.

Average mature weight: Roosters 8 1/2 lbs, Hens 7 lbs.
