Whether ordering from or contacting Meyer Hatchery, you agree to these terms:

Poultry Arrival Information

We ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays depending on the combination of poultry ordered. Poultry is shipped for arrival at your local Post Office Tuesday through Saturday depending on hatch date. Whether you phone in your order or book it online, we will inform you of the arrival time frame. Please note, Priority Mail Express and Priority Mail postage will not be refunded unless the delivery or attempted delivery is more than 3 days after the day of mailing. This policy comes directly from the United States Postal Service.

Please Note: 48-hour guarantee not valid for peafowl. Please inspect at the post office with your Postmaster as a witness if any loss occurs. They are insured and you must file a claim with the Post Office for any shipping losses if you wish to be reimbursed (PS Form 1000). Meyer Hatchery does not guarantee peafowl in any manner. 

Pick Up Orders: Live poultry and hatching eggs will be available for pickup during the first 48 hours after hatch/packaging. NO EXCEPTIONS! If you do not pick up your order during stated pickup times, you forfeit the amount you paid for the live poultry and/or hatching eggs because of the perishable nature of the product. Pickup orders must be placed and paid for in advance. We are not able to accept payment at time of pickup.  

Substitution Policy

On occasion, we have a breed that does not hatch as well as we predicted. While this is not a common occurrence, it's a good idea to be prepared to make a decision quickly on hatch day if an issue should arise. If you are willing to accept substitutions for specific breeds on your order, let us know ahead of time! This will help us come hatch day. You can always wait to see if we call on hatch day at which time you will have the choice to substitute, ship short, reschedule or cancel your order depending on your preference. Understand that we are working with limited time on hatch days, so your immediate cooperation is necessary to resolve hatch day issues. If we do not hear back from you, Meyer Hatchery reserves the right to use our best judgment and make the decision for you.

Poultry Guarantee

Live Guarantee: Meyer Hatchery guarantees 100% healthy chicks on arrival with excellent livability or your money back / stock replaced. Orders are shipped with up to 4% extra chicks at no extra charge, if available at hatch and will be deducted from the total loss if included. All orders must meet our minimum order quantities in order to qualify. We will offer a refund, replace, or give credit one time toward any properly cared for poultry that deceased within 48 hours of the time of arrival to your post office. While we appreciate notification of losses as they happen, we ask that you report your total losses one time, at the end of the 48 hour period. If you are picking your chicks up at our retail location, your 48-hours starts at time of pickup. At no time will our guarantee exceed the original purchase price. 

Sexing Guarantee: We offer a 90% sexing accuracy guarantee or your money back. For errors resulting greater than the guarantee, we will refund the price of the bird. Sexing errors can be reported when birds reach 10 weeks of age and no later than 18 weeks after hatch date. 

Hatching Eggs

We offer a full line of hatching eggs and incubators for customers who want to hatch their own birds. We will ship fresh eggs - the same eggs we hatch here. We guarantee the eggs to be true to breed variety and to arrive in good condition. However, we do not guarantee hatchability due to conditions beyond our control during shipment, and hatching equipment or methods used. Egg orders of less than 6 eggs will incur a small order charge of $7.00. Hatching eggs ordered for pick up MUST be picked up on the dates specified on the invoice. Any order not picked up on the specified dates will not be held for a longer period of time and will be considered abandoned. Because hatching eggs are perishable, Meyer Hatchery will not issue a refund for orders that are abandoned.

Merchandise (Non-live Products)

Supplies will ship within 1 to 3 business days from Meyer Hatchery. If you are not satisfied or product does not meet your standards, the item may be returned, only with the proper consent of Meyer Hatchery. Items returned will only be accepted if in original packaging, in unused condition, and date of purchase is not greater than 30 days. Package must include a return authorization number, which can be obtained by calling Meyer Hatchery Customer Service. Only then can it be exchanged, offered a refund, or credited toward a different product. Emailed chicken coop building plans and vaccinations cannot be returned.

NPIP Certificates

We provide NPIP certificates (VS Form 9-3) at no charge. Requests should be made at the time of purchase, but are also available after your poultry ship in your online Meyer Hatchery account. We can provide the form one time, under the name of the purchaser, in print.

Terms

AT NO TIME WILL ORDERS BE BOOKED WITHOUT PAYMENT. ORDERS ARE BOOKED FIRST COME WITH PAYMENT, FIRST SERVED.

Cancellations: A $10.00 Cancellation Fee applies to any and all orders canceled. No order will be canceled two weeks prior to hatch date. Please follow up with us via phone, chat, or email when canceling an order for confirmation.

Started Pullets: A non-refundable $1 per bird deposit is due at the time the order is booked with a $20 minimum deposit required.

Phone and Online Orders: Pay by credit card: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express.

Order Form: All orders must be accompanied with payment: Check, Money Order, or Credit Card numbers.

** Personal check orders will be booked after verification of sufficient funds. Please allow for additional processing time. Checks returned to us by your bank will result in an additional $40.00. If reconciliation is not made within 15 days your account will be turned over to our collection agency, and other penalties and fees will be added.

While we have taken many precautions to ensure accurate pricing, we cannot guarantee this catalog to be free of pricing or typographical errors. PRICES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. Online prices supersede all prior pricing.

Photos and descriptions are the property of Meyer Hatchery and no reproduction is permitted without written consent of Meyer Hatchery. Most photos in our catalog and website are actual photographs taken of our breeder flocks and represent the quality you can expect from our birds. 

Privacy Policy

Meyer Hatchery takes every precaution necessary to protect your privacy and personal information. When submitting sensitive information (such as a credit card number) via our website, that information is collected, encrypted, and protected by the best encryption technology available in the industry---SSL. We combine secure servers with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) transmission to safeguard the personal information of all Meyer Hatchery customers. What this means is that anytime you send data to our web server it will be encrypted and, in turn, our server will encrypt any data sent back to your web browser. Meyer Hatchery uses 128-bit encryption by Register.com, the most advanced form of SSL software presently available.
 
When we collect your cardholder data, such as name, address, phone number, email address and credit card number with expiration date we do not share this information with any third party.
