Blue Swedish Duck

The Blue Swedish Duck was bred in northern England and Poland and arrived in North America around 1884.  They are slow to mature, but make a good meat duck and are also a moderate egg layer.  Blue Swedish Ducks are a very hardy bird due to heritage. Their plumage is uniform bluish slate with some feathers laced in a darker shade. They carry some white on their wings and breast, and drakes are slightly darker than ducks.
