Silver Pheasants have their origins in the mountains of Southeast Asia with populations also introduced in Hawaii and other parts of the United States. Silver pheasants are quiet and easy to raise. They do well in aviary environments and are great for beginners.

Silver Pheasants are fantastic natural foragers eating a diet of berries, seeds, grains, greens, and insects. You will also want to supplement their diet with a standard game bird feed. These birds are usually fertile at 1 year. One male will breed with several females.

Breeding season is between February and May. A clutch of 6 to 15 eggs will be laid and hatch approximately 27 days later. It is best to provide this breed as much natural surroundings as possible.

Silver Pheasant males reach an average mature weight of 4 lbs and an overall length of 49 inches, with the tail accounting for 30 inches. Females reach an average mature weight of 2 lbs and an overall length of 49 inches. Average life expectancy is 15 to 20 years.
